Discussion Group
Pastor Emily will be facilitating a discussion group the first Wednesday of every month from 7-8 p.m.
Starting October 3rd, November 14th, and December 5th
Jesus lived with the awareness that God is doing something, right here, right now, and anybody can be a part of it. He encouraged his listeners to search, to question, to wrestle with the implications of what he was saying and doing. He inspired, challenged, provoked, comforted, and invited people to be open to God’s work in this world. Wherever he went, whatever he did, Jesus started discussions about what matters most, because for Jesus, God is always inviting us to open our eyes and join in.
New York Times bestselling author Rob Bell made a series of films called ‘the NOOMA films”. There are 24 of them. They are a series of short films (10-13 minutes each) that explore our world from a perspective of Jesus. NOOMA is an invitation to search, question, and join the discussion. We will be watching a short film from 7-8 p.m. the first Wednesday of every month in the library after the potluck dinner with the exception of November. The dates will be: October 3, November 14, and December 5th. We will continue into 2019 if enough people attend. The videos can be previewed on You Tube should you want to see what we will be doing!
Come join the restart of the Men’s Discussion Group. We will meet in Classroom 10, right upstairs on the third Sunday of the month at 8:30 am.

Congo Quiz Night – 2nd Annual Congo Quiz Night – Back by Popular Demand! This Sunday (March 10) is the final day to sign up for Congo Quiz Night. We’ll match wit and wisdom on Saturday, March 16, 7:00-9:00 pm at the Wamsutta Club in New Bedford. Light refreshments will be served, with a cash bar available. Tickets are $15 per person. The emphasis is on FUN, with lots of silly and easy questions thrown into the mix – such as last year’s query as to “Who is buried in Grant’s tomb?”! It will be a group sport: you can show up and be randomly assigned to a table or come with a group of friends to make up a team. And, feel free to extend the invitation to friends who aren’t members or participants in our church. We extend a cordial Congo welcome to everyone. We hope you’ll join us for a fun evening of fellowship. Please sign up this Sunday.
