Red Cross Blood Drive – Sunday, July 28th – 7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. It’s that time of year again, when bike, boat, and car accidents tend to spike, flooding emergency rooms and draining the blood supply. No surprise, then, that the Red Cross has declared a Blood Emergency. Pints of blood are now leaving the shelves faster than new ones are coming in. We can help the Red Cross to restore the blood supply. Join us for the Sunday service on July 28 and stay a while to give blood before, during, or after the service. To schedule an appointment at the time of your choice, call or email Betty Morgan at 774 328-3664 / [email protected]. If your name is on the Red Cross donor list, you can schedule your appointment yourself at www.redcrossblood.org.

Sunday, Oct. 20, beginning at 1pm: Trail Walk at – Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary – Last spring, Fred Dabney led a fascinating tour through a section of the Audubon Sanctuary at Allens Pond. On October 20, we’ll start at a different point and see more of the Sanctuary, with Fred again as our guide. Meet at 1:00pm at the Audubon Stone Barn, 786 Horseneck Road, South Dartmouth. We’ll walk along wooded trails, so wear sturdy shoes and dress for whatever weather the day brings. A couple of things to note: dogs are not allowed and be sure to meet at the Audubon entrance on Horseneck Rd, South Dartmouth (there’s another entrance on Horseneck Road, Westport, across from Bayside Restaurant).
